ON THE RUN

Meg: Let's just say I made it 1/3 of the way through my 5k before I realized I forgot to start my Garmin... and I wasn't even mad about it. It was love at first stride. From landing to toe-off the Triumph 24 felt light and energetic without sacrificing softness or stability. What started as an easy 3 miles quickly turned into a lively 5!

Jacob: I'll be completely honest, the Saucony Triumph has never been the first shoe to come to mind when I'm grabbing a pair from my closet. It always has sat in a weird spot with the Ride being such a close comparison. I can say with my chest that the Triumph 24 has finally broken the mold and is one of the better high cushion running shoes in the industry right now. For all of my fellow basketball fans out there, this is the Jamal Murray of running shoes. It was always a solid option, but now has popped off to become a staple in the rotation. My runs felt lightweight, bouncy, and most importantly CUSHIONED! I couldn't believe the improvement in the padding until I took them on my first run.

THE FIT

Meg: Overall, the Triumph 24 fits remarkably well. It felt secure without the feeling of being suffocated. The upper is breathable and molded to my foot quite nicely. I'm not usually a huge fan of rounded laces as they inevitably tend to loosen or untie completely, but they seemed to lock down nicely. Even if they do loosen a bit, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. That's an easy and inexpensive fix. Full transparency, I did go up a half size from my usual 7.5 as I felt I needed a bit more space in the previous model, but it was far roomier than I anticipated. I would recommend sticking to your normal size. There was more than enough room for toes to move freely and not feel cramped.

Jacob: This entire fit of this shoe can be summed up in one word, "Plush". I compare it to a luxury SUV. This new iteration allows for a lot more wiggle room, but still keeping my foot feeling locked in. My toes have plenty of flexibility as well with the breathable engineer mesh. This will be a great shoe for people with a higher volume foot. The heel collar is outfitted with a nice backing that can act like a shoehorn to help guide your foot into a soft heel.

THE FEEL

Meg: Saucony's new IncrediLUX foam in the midsole felt both incredible and luxurious... which is likely the inspiration behind the name... clever. The cushion offers a cozy softness, but remains reliably stable underfoot. The Triumph 24 delivers an ideal combination of IncrediLUX foam, a smooth yet noticeable rocker, a comfortably wide base, and an upper that wraps securely around the entire foot. You could say The Triumph 24 is the Golden Retriever of everyday trainers, soft, friendly, dependable, and always happy to go a bit farther than planned!

Jacob: IncrediLUX is incredible. This new foam is a game changer for Saucony. Just holding it in your hand, you can feel the amount of cushioning that you are in store for. It is one of the softer, bouncier foams in a high cushion shoe. It's refreshing to pull out a high cushion shoe and not just feel that "quicksand" cushioning that gives very little back to you. It actually gives a nice response underfoot and helps keep me peppy during a long run. My only complaint is that it's not the most stable shoe in the world. I could see someone who over-pronates having an issue with this model, but more neutral runners are going to have a blast!

THE NITTY GRITTY

Meg: I suppose I would (and will) use this shoe for easy everyday runs, slower paced longer runs, or possibly recovery runs. If running is not your preferred method of cardio, I could see the Triumph being great for walkers as well. However, with the upgrade to Incredilux, the cushion combined with the lighter weight could prove to be a little too soft and bouncy for those who aren't as confident on their feet. I would put this in the line up with Puma's MagMax Nitro or the Asics Gel-Nimbus.

Jacob: This is going to be my favorite long run shoe in my upcoming training cycle. With the deadly combo of being lightweight and cushioned, this shoe fits a great niche for me! I could see this being a great recovery shoe as well if you want to have a wider fitting shoe to help support a more swollen foot (especially after long run days). Comparing to the Triumph 23, this is a complete overhaul in the best way possible. The weight went down from 9.2oz to 8.6oz, making for a lighter ride. The cushoning overhaul, going from a PWRRUNPB to IndrediLUX is another great upgrade. The upper is a good amount wider now, allowing for a more forgiving fit. I'd compare this shoe to the Brooks Glycerin, New Balance 1080, and Puma Magmax Nitro.

THE RUNDOWN

Meg: All in all, I really enjoyed every mile in this shoe. Personally, I think it could be a hair more firm, but that's only if I'm trying really hard to find something to nit-pick. This really was the perfect pairing of everything I would look for in a daily trainer, so let's call it what it is, a Triumph!

Jacob:  I came into this review not expecting much, but I was blown away by how much I love this shoe, It has become one of the biggest staples in my rotation, and almost every update to the shoe was a direct improvement. I would just try to make the shoe a bit more stable, but outside of that, this shoe is a certified banger. I give it 4/5 Stars!
