ON THE RUN
Toni: The Ghost 18 is a dependable feel from stride to toe off. What stuck out to me was the shoe disappeared on my foot. I'm not a Ghost 18 wearer. I tend to wear minimal shoes or maximum shoes but this middle space, I tend to overlook. I'm not sure why, but I do. So when I put it on I was concerned that I would feel something I would not like. Something chunky, or something that didn't transition.
But that wasn't the case at ALL. I ran without thinking about my feet. Without thinking about the fit. It felt natural.

THE FIT
Toni: I have opinions about the fit. When the Ghost 17 came out. I put it on my foot and instantly my foot was SQUEEZED. Brooks is very consistent with updates so I was weary of the same situation for the Ghost 18. But that wasn't the case at all. The tighten across my midfoot completely gone. The shoe felt like it was "broken in" already. You might look at this shoe and think, "This tongue is too flat and short!" But that's not the case at all. It's actually perfect in so many ways. The length on the shoe is spot on, thank goodness. I'm always fearful when a shoe runs short because my arches get all angry but Brooks did me a solid with the length of this shoe.

THE FEEL
Toni: The cushion of the ghost 18 was a little bit cushion and a little bit bouncy and a little bit connected. It was all I needed in one package. When I run, I tend to roll to the lateral side of my shoes. The Ghost 18 seems to support my movement to wear I didn't feel that roll. Shoe technology has gotten so good that the Ghost feels incredibly premium, even though Brooks has more premium options in their line up.

THE NITTY GRITTY
Toni: I have put in over 50 miles in the Ghost 18 so far. I would say this shoe would be a solid daily trainer up to marathon distance road shoe for those runners that don't want to run in a super shoe. If you are looking for light and speedy, grab yourself a hyperion elite. If you're looking for dependable, look no further than the Ghost 18

THE RUNDOWN
Toni: I would not change a thing about the Ghost 18. Brooks made the right updates for the shoe for your foot to relax in the shoe while you chase new distance goals.
